Königs-Galerie Kassel

The Königs-Galerie (engl: “King’s Arcade”) Kassel is a shopping gallery opened in 1995 with more than 60 shops, restaurants and service providers on the Königsstraße in the center of Kassel.

It has an enclosed space of 100,000 cbm and offers a usable area of 24,000 sqm. The charterers are, for example, Rossmann, Lidl, Lacoste, C&A, Görtz 17.

The Königs-Galerie also owes its special flair to its remarkable architecture. The inside and outside of the building are covered with natural stones and non-ferrous metals. Two contrarily rotating stainless steel rods reflect the sunlight during the day. The glazed dome is illuminated by an artificial starry sky at night with 170 lights. It is 13 m wide, 29 m long, 14 tons heavy, and is equipped with 420 solar panels made of dark glass.
